A.R.E. Partners President and Managing Broker Antje Gehrken has been designated as a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), which recognizes her as an expert in the commercial andinvestment real estate industry. The process to obtain this appointment--which includes extensive coursework, a portfolio of approved commercial transactions, and a 6 hour final exam--seeks to ensure that its designees are proficient in their field not only in theory, but also in practice.
This designation is another notch in Gehrken's belt: In 2015, she was appointed to the Chicago Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors, as well as the Vice Chair of its Professional Development Advisory Group. She also serves as a Mentor for the Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Commercial Real Estate Initiative. In 2014, she was named as the Women's Council of Realtors' Entrepreneur of the Year.
CCIMs, according to Realtor.org, are an "elite corp" of brokers, leasing professionals, investment counselors, asset managers, appraisers, corporate real estate executives, property managers, developers, institutional investors and other professionals. There are over 150,000 commercial real estate professionals in the U.S.; of these, only about 6 percent hold a CCIM designation. Globally, these members account for approximately $400 billion in real estate transactions annually. The CCIM Institute is a commercial affiliate of the National Association of Realtors, and as a member, Gehrken will now have access to a network of 13,000 members across the world.
Gehrken has over 15 years of experience representing investors/developers, home buyers and sellers, institutional clients, and property owners. She takes a hands-on approach with the operations of A.R.E., creating a go-to market strategy specific to each client. Her listings have been featured everywhere from 'Crain's Chicago Business' to FOX News. Prior to committing herself full-time to real estate, Gehrken spearheaded a southern rock / country band managed by Reba McEntire's company and signed to Taylor Swift's record label. But, as her reputation will attest, she never actually stopped being a rock star; she brings all that attitude to work for her clients and team as she builds A.R.E. Partners to be one of Chicago's hottest real estate brokerages.
