#GetMoved.

Here are some tips to aid in the packing process after you sell your home and begin the adjustment to a new dwelling for your family. These 7 tips will hopefully make your packing process much smoother, which will in turn prevent some anxiety that is associated with moving. Moving does not have to be painful!

1. Pack a small suitcase for the first few days in your new home
When you have everything moved into your new home, finding things can be stressful. To assist in the post-move anxiety, pack a box of everything you will need for the first few days until you get around to completely unpacking.

2. Prevent your necklaces from tangling in a jewelry bag
Tangled necklaces are one of the worst things, but when you have an entire bag full of tangled necklaces, that is just pure evil. Thread your necklaces through straws to prevent them from turning into a giant ball of wire that takes hours to unravel.

3. Avoid the dreaded box of unidentifiable cords
This one is a lifesaver, trust me. LABEL YOUR CORDS. Instead of having to sort through a box of cords, take some masking tape and label which cord goes with each television, controller, and any other device.

4. Sticker your boxes by room
Writing on all the boxes you pack to label the room can be tedious. Instead, grab a sheet of blank circle inventory labels to color-code each room. Green for kitchen, yellow for bedroom, and so on and so forth.

5. Pack heavy items in suitcases
We all have that large pile of books or other heavy items that are always a pain to move. Consider packing them into roller suitcases rather than boxes so they can just be rolled into the truck.

6. Downsize and give back at the same time
No matter who you are, there are people who have it worse than you. As a way to downsize and help those in need, sort through your unused items to donate to your local Goodwill. This will downsize the load you are bringing to your new home, while also benefiting others.

7. Hire movers that you can trust
Always remember to hire movers who want the absolute best for you and your family! Coffey Bros. Moving Company will always give you their very best service at an affordable rate. Choose Coffey to help you #GetMoved.
